DILSTON MILL |
|
Welcome to Dilston Mill, a unique 'self-serve' B&B in a converted historic watermill on the banks of Devils Water in Northumberland. This unspoiled and uncrowded area is one of England's best kept secrets and the Mill has been a witness to its dramatic and colourful history back to the Middle Ages with links further back to Roman and Anglo-Saxon times.
Dilston Mill is in a secluded but convenient position. It is only one mile from Corbridge and two from Hexham. These charming and historic towns with Roman remains and ancient churches also offer excellent dining and other amenities, including a theatre, cinema, swimming pool and country park. Dilston Mill is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with a rich heritage from the Romans of Hadrians Wall to medieval castles, bastles and pele towers of the untamed 17th century Reivers and classic country houses and gardens.
The Mill is also close to all modern sporting (golf, fishing, watersports, pony trekking, cycling, walking) and leisure amenities and the vibrant entertainments, nightlife and shopping of Newcastle, Gateshead and the Metrocentre. In addition, the world heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle, Beamish outdoor museum, Kielder lake, coastal beaches, hills, moorland and the Scottish borders are all within easy reach on modern, often uncrowded, roads. And if you venture off the main roads, you will probably have the place to yourself!
Dilston Mill visitors are special; there is only one party at a time in each of the B&B Suites.
In a beautiful riverside position, Dilston Mill can be your relaxing base with
fresh fruit, teas, coffee and biscuits always available. The flexible but substantial
'self-serve' breakfasts are appreciated by visitors and will set you up for
active days of sightseeing, shopping, business and fun. If you wish, information
and suggestions can be provided to help make your visit special.
